I am first and foremost a stay-at-home mother.  I have two wonderful kids, age 6 and 8, and an amazing husband of 10 yrs.  They are the center of my life.

I am also autistic; I now fall under the category of 'Asperger's Syndrome', A high-functioning autistic disorder.  When I was an infant, I was severely autistic.  So bad in fact that the doctors told my mother to put me in an institution, and forget she had a second daughter.  My mother is (Thank God) one of the most stubborn people I've ever known, and she told them just what to do with that idea.  She took me home, got a discharge from the Air Force, and over much time, healed me.  It wasn't easy, it wasn't pleasant, and it wasn't over-night.

When I was eight years old, my father divorced my mother, and took us, basically kidnapped my sister and I.  He didn't want us, but he didn't want my mother to have anything she wanted either.  He did not take very good care of my sister and I, he abused us, emotionally, and my sister physically.  The only reason he didn't abuse me physically was that she protected me.  He was drunk always, and as I've gotten older, I came to realize there was a lot more than just alcohol involved.  When I was nearly 11, My sister called Social Services, they told her she was lying, and hung up on her.  Later, my sister got some of our neighbors, who were scared of my father, to call, and we were removed from his home.  We went to live with my Aunt and Uncle, until my mother was able to take us.  She lived halfway across the country, so it took time.  I thank God every day that my Aunt and Uncle are the amazing people they are, and took us in and started the healing that we so needed.

I spent the next several years in therapy, and even in an institution twice.  Through guidance of these doctors, and my mother’s faith, I began to feel like a worthy person again.  Many years later, I found Christ, I had always gone to church, but I was simply doing what it seemed I should.  This gave me the final boost to know I am who I am, and I am how God made me.

I have half of my degree for music, and many credits in other courses, but I was never able to finish a degree.  I have fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, thyroid-disorder, and arthritis in my hands, all of which are probably attributed to being undiagnosed with Celiac disease for many many years, which made finishing school difficult.

When I met my husband, it was love at first date.  We were 'work buddies' but hadn't done anything together, and when I was about to move to another job, I finally asked him out.  We went on a date, spent most of the night talking, and eight days later we were engaged.  Three and a half months later, we got married, and have been happy since, though of course there are rough times, we are human after all.  In January of 2006 we were blessed with our first child, a boy, fourteen months later came along our girl!  I am the kind of girl who said all through high school and college that I would NEVER have children.  Even my mother came to believe I meant it, only my other Aunt, and my best friend said it would change someday.  Well, with Jeff, it did.  He made me want them, and he is a wonderful father.  Our kids being born so close together has made them near twin-like.  They do almost everything together.  Being a Stay at Home mom has been the most amazing experience in my life.

Last year, my mom convinced me to try a gluten free diet for myself, and I am healthier now then since I was a child, so I believe I have Celiac disease, my mother has it for sure, and it is genetic.  We put my kids on it also, just in case, since it is likely they have Celiac or Gluten-sensitivity.  I have seen a marked improvement in my son's ADHD, and my daughters horrendous stomach aches since being on it.

I decided to start blogging because I have always been told I am a good writer, it's the only part of school other than music that I did well at.  Also, though I have tried to find work during the school day, no one is hiring for work I can do, so I thought this would be a good way to both fill time and earn something.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy my articles.
